E: When the band Yesterday's Rising was first being formed, were there any longterm goals set for the band? Did you foresee the band going far?
Justin: From the beginning, it was looked at as something everyone wanted to do for a long time.  Everyone knew that it was a great opportunity to do something special.
E: In what ways has the band gone through changes? Are these changes gradual, or do they happen suddenly?
Justin: We've had member changes... Jaime and I joined in about November or December. It was more of a sudden situation because in one day our band broke up and got back together and was already up and running.
E: Do you think that, individually, the members of the band are at their peak? Or is there still room for improvement?
Justin: There is always room for improvement. We are all still learning a lot because we are still pretty young.
E: What kind of sacrifices has the band made to establish itself at the point it is currently at? What makes these sacrifices worth it?
Justin: A few members have quit things to do more with the band. For example, Jaime quit high school baseball and an opportunity to go to college for it, just to be with the band 24/7. Brandon could have gone to art school, but decided not to for the band. There haven't been that many sacrifices, really--everything is just awesome and we couldn't be happier.
E: Do the benefits and pleasures of touring outweigh the less enjoyable aspects? What are they, and how?
Justin: They definitely outweigh all of the bullsh*t that has happened to us. On stage is just amazing, as well as talking to other people and other bands.
E: Is the joy you get from playing music the same as it was when you started? How has it changed?
Justin: It only gets better. Every day on stage becomes more exciting for us.
E: If you were to break down your career into three essential moments which you raised your level of success, what would they probably be?
Justin: It would be the first EP and mp3.com, then second would be joining Fearless Records and putting out an EP with them, then last would be playing Warped Tour. That's it so far.
E: Is it difficult to hold the songs you write close to your heart as you have written more and more of them?
Justin: All of the new songs have different personal feeling to all of us, but everytime we write a new song we like to try different things that we keep close to us.  Every old song still means the same amount, the new songs are just more exciting because they are new... you know?
E: Are there specific songs that mean more to you than others?
Justin: We all have personal favorites, yes.
E: Are the songs that are the most meaningful to you easier or harder to write?
Justin: We don't write anything unless it comes naturally, so it hasn't ever been hard to write anything.
E: Years in the future, do you think you'll remember your career in music as one complete experience, or as a series of events and feelings?
Justin: Definitely a series of events and feelings, because there are so many things always happening that we never knew could happen. It is completely overwhelming.
E: Well thanks a lot for taking the time to share your words.
Justin: Thanks so much for your time as well, we just want to show our appreciation for anyone who will or has ever taken the time to check us out.
